WWE Re-Signs Chris Masters

02mastersAs if Kennedy's sudden release wasn't surprising enough it looks like WWE has re-signed former two time Wellness Policy violator Chris Masters. According to Insider.com(via 24Wrestling.com) Chris Masters was backstage during the Raw and Smackdown tappings at the Staple's Center a few weeks ago and has been canceling Indie show bookings telling the promoters that he is heading back to the WWE. Masters, who's 2007 WWE release came just 6-days into a 60-day suspension for his second Wellness Policy violation, has been working mostly in Japan since his WWE departure.

I never was a fan of Masters in the ring or on the mic so it would be pretty easy to shit all over this but I'm willing to at least give Masters the benefit of the doubt. It's quite possible that he has improved his ring work while wrestling in Japan we'll just have to wait and see.

  1. See what happens when you DONT go to TNA?

  2. Kane

so does he gets a clean slate or do the 2 previous wellnes policy violations still count?

  3. sideshowRaheem

Technically since this is a new contract Masters’ Wellness Policey violations are reset but even with that be the case if Masters were to fail another drug test while working under this new contract I would be shocked if the WWE didn’t fire him on the spot.

i would be one to think that a year and a half in japan would do wonders more for a wrestler than 5 in developmental, so maybe hes gotten better

  5. The Original Nick

I’d really like to see either TNA or WWE sign A-Train to a contract

i bet if kennedy stays healthy and out of tna, and is able to get back to a size a little more like his roided self, he could be back within 3 years.

I saw a picture of Chris Masters Now, He looks very skinny compared to when he first came to the wwe. I expect him to be a better wrestler since he spent some time in japan, I hope his mic skills improved they use to be horrible. But well see

  8. alowishous

Good shit. I thought he was a pretty good wrestler and could have been huge in WWE.
    Elijah Burke will be next.
    Hopefully.

Really? Someone decided to book him in Japan? Where did he go? I’m quite sure he didnt go to NOAH.

Never liked Masters and never will and I don’t really see the point of bringing him back, but I’m hoping that the WWE doesn’t bury him for slimming down like HHH did the last time he lost weight because that would send the completely wrong message and prove that WWE don’t care about their wrestlers being healthy, instead worrying about them having good physiques.

Chris is 26 years old, something I never realized for some reason. When he came to the WWE the first time he was 20.The only match I could find from Japan was a 5 and a half minute match that was mostly punches. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t awesome either. Supposedly it was his first match back from injury though, so take that as you will. I’m willing to give Masters a chance, he seems to have matured a bit, and hopefully he has learned what is neccessary to improve his game.

Well, regardless of what you think of his wrestling, he’s a nice guy. He was really cool when we did the interview with him a while back for the podcast. Only guy to actually USE skype for an interview, LOL. Glad to hear he’s back.

I would love to see him come back as a face…………….never was a very big fan of him but he seems to have a very succesfull carrer ahead of him

  14. he was trying to become the youngest WWE champ ever in that elimination chamber, he had said it on RAW also.

By the way, HBK was the first to break the masterlock.
