WWE: Raw (9th June ‘09)

After last nights pay per view, Raw tonight has a match advertised between Cena and The Miz. I think The Miz could be a bit of a surprise break out star if they let him.
Also, just to keep us internet fans happy, Batista will kick off the show! Happy times indeed.
As I am writing this I notice on wwe.com that they wish Umaga the best in his future endeavours! After only wrestling last night I'm sure the rumours will be flowing around the internet pretty soon.
Feel free to discuss Raw, The Miz, and share your completely made up ridicules reasons on why Umaga got fired!

I heard that Umaga got fired because he slept with steph when she was 15.
Gooser:
If that’s true, we won’t get a Best of Umaga anthology for another 20 years.
He also may get a Umaga impersonator in TNA.
When I hurt about the Batista surgery I instantly though of a tournament culminating at Summerslam or Night of Champions……..!
P.S. Isnt the King of the Ring going to be soon.
I almost marked out when Vicky quit……..
so WWE completely ruins a very good RAW by nonsensical rulings (why didn’t the ref count to 10) and the return of that huge piece of shit. Way to go.
EDGE = FACE!!!!!!?
DK, why do you only comment to talk about the bad shit?
I really liked RAW, except for the 6 man tag and Big Show messing up the Miz/Cena match. It makes sense to have that match at The Bash anyway so I wasnt upset, just looking forward to it. SEND SHOW TO ECW…..in a trade with Christian. Also the Cena promo was crappy because again Cena sounded so scripted.
UmAga
Gooser, Umaga slept with Steph at 15? Was that before or after she got the implants?
You know how I know they’re not booking Orton right? On WWE.com they’re calling Randy “The Viper”. Really?
2 things:
When will the fantastic Cena/Big Show feud end?
HHH vs Orton- “The gift that keeps on giving”…except it’s one of those gifts you cannot wait to return to the store.
jsnwwf, because it’s fucking annoying. It had been a really good RAW, ( I guess you skipped the part where I said that), but the last 5 minutes completely ruined the show and made a mockery of the rules. The ref is supposed to count to 10 unless Batista makes it back into the ring. Batista didn’t make it back in. The title should belong to Orton. And don’t even get me started on the fact that the dominant heel got destroyed on back to back nights first by Batista and then by Levesque. How does that make him look like he deserves the belt at all? Total 100% bullshit writing.
indeed i have been saying this for like 3 weeks now impact has been better just watch it its less bullshit then raw it still has it silliness but its not as bad as it use to be
DK, the ending was so bad that I had to turn it off. Can’t they find Orton any new feuds? He is always lumped with HHH and Batista, depending on which one hasn’t tore a muscle at the time, and it’s boring.
As for the Cena-Show feud, when will it end? It’s rivalling Young-Roode for length and that rivalry sucked too. The only bright spot was The Miz destroying them both, at least WWE seems serious in building him up and they won’t just bury him or drop the feud a la WCW did with Y2J-Goldberg.
DK, the point is that even though it had been a good RAW, your first comment was about the negative part. Its like you only came online that time just to complain about the finish…..look at it this way. Would you rather have a Orton/Batista Feud or an Orton/HHH feud that will head into a Hell in a Cell match?
Me? I want Orton/MVP but I am not going to get that for a feud. HHH will get to 17 reigns and there is nothing that we can do about it.
just dont watch it or watch the triple h segments simple as that
im not going to be able to use the internet fro wrestling much longer if this is the reaction triple h gets everyweek he shows up for the next 15 years.
then dont watch. hhh should dictate whether you watch wrestling or not, right?
that makes sense.
The WWE web team do research on other wrestling websites and blogs to see what others are saying about their product. If my complaining about the giant douchebag helps to get him less airtime even a little bit then I’m going to keep on doing it.
Sorry guys. I’m just calling it like I see it.
DK, I usually dislike your sniping at WWE but in HHH’s case I feel the same way. I dislike him as a performer and a person and it’s gotten to the point where I can’t watch him on TV anymore.
i agree with jsn. i seriously doubt the wwe will let a miniscule percent of the wrestling population who hate anything a certain talent does persude them to change how much airtime they get; if these people are pissed but keep watching there is all the more reason to keep them on. not watching on the other hand seems like a more effective way of getting through to them because ratings = money.
i know when im not having a good time watching wrestling i turn the channel.
I dont like HHH, the backstabbing non put over-er eeither, but I like the wrestler. As a facve he is OK, but as a heel……top 5 of my lifetime. Thats for sure. Hogan, Rock, Orton, maybe JBL/Flair, and HHH. Slaughter and Sid were great too but maybe not top 5.
It just looks like HHH is going to win the 4 way at RAW and because a 19th(lol) World champion. He is stacking the reigns up and that upsets me, but I dont really care that much. He will never be considered a great wrestler inside the ring. HBK, Orton, Taker, Austin, Rock, Big Show, Jericho, Rey, Cena, Edge, Christian(eventually), Angle, and Funaki will all be respected more than Triple H 30 years from now.
I dont take him seriously anymore. Orton is carrying the feud anyway.
Dynamite Kid,
The dominant heel storyline is good as its something different. It makes the viewer feel that Orton has some rivals for the belt.
So DK you should back off and stop complaining about WWE all the time.
PF, again your comments make no sense. Maybe they make sense in your head, but when you type them, all bets are off.
What dominant heel storyline are you talking about? How can he be dominant when he gets beaten to a pulp every week by Flair, MVP, HHH, Batista etc.
Kanadian, that’s exactly what I did, As soon as Levesque came out I turned the channel. I will continue to do so.
My head makes no sense, yet I graduate from university a few days back…WOW. I called it the dominant heel storyline for short and did not refer to Orton being the dominant heel.
Anyway if we have the same dominant heel winning all the time, then who would watch the following week? It would become predictable and turn viewers away. So it makes sense for him to be attacked each week by other wrestlers. To make the viewers realise that he has competitors. So you back off.
Do you really think in your selective mind that the youth of today will want to watch Orton being dominant every week? they would be bored in an instance.
Also the only way this storyline would stop making sense is if next week they start to make Orton dominant all of a sudden. Then the writers would have written an illogical storyline.
Indie-wise, fans tuned into ECW religiously during one of the longest heel-reigns in company history with the Dudley Boys. Mind you, that wasn’t main-stream. The only modern equivalent I can compare it to is Triple H and most people were bored out of their minds by that, Brock was a dominant heel but he never held the title as long as Triple H but I succintly remember enjoying all of his matches. Dominant face angles have both worked and failed due to how they were booked. I honestly never cared for JBL, though a lot of people tuned in with hopes that he’d lose his damn title. Goldberg in WCW worked. John Cena in WWE does not work. I like Cena, I think he’s an awesome person and very under-rated wrestling-wise but, damn are his feuds boring.
I think if they booked Orton as a heel Superman, sort of the perfect opposite of Cena, it would work. The question would simply be, “who can stop Orton?” and I’d be interested enough to watch more often.
