TNA Epics Head To Head With Smackdown
TNA are set to air their new show Epics in the United Kingdom.
News broke that the show will go head to head with WWE’s Smackdown on Friday nights. TNA wrestling have signed a deal with the UK TV station Bravo to air their new show.
The show is a bit like some of WWE’s 24/7 programs, it is a weekly hour long show dedicated to TNA’s back catalogue. It will be hosted by current TNA Champion Mick Foley. This is a good step forward for TNA and they are being very brave going head to head with Friday night Smackdown.
I suspect that Smackdown will still dominate this mini ratings battle but on a positive note many more house holds have the TV station Bravo. It is available on free view, if you want to watch WWE programming you have to pay at least £40 per month for a sports package. The show will debut of Friday 15th May at 10pm.
Why is this not available on the states yet and do you think TNA are using air time to the best of their abilities? Here is a trailor for the show, looks pretty good huh?

I thought TNA was going to innovate wrestling. Instead they have managed to put a way over the hill star like foley in the top spot when clearly there are more people diserving. Their shows have basically turned into diet wwe.

Well I don’t get Bravo on Freeview, so I can’t watch this show at uni so I can only watch wrestling when my term ends in a couple of weeks. I don’t think it’s a great idea for TNA to put this show up against SD because the established wrestling show will destroy the new one in the ratings. TNA is getting popular over here but nowhere near on the level of WWE, as the recent live tours proved.
I’m worried that this advert placed so much emphasis on the wrestling legends like Macho Man, Piper, Hogan and Hall because their appearances in TNA did nothing to improve the brand and weren’t exactly the best moments in the promotion’s history. I think they should have made a bigger deal of the classic X division. Hopefully this show will allow UK fans to see the classic Joe-AJ-Daniels matches as well as the early Joe-Angle matches rather than show the old timers well past their prime.
I think this will be good and I also think that in the UK it has a chance of getting better ratings than smackdown, if only because a lot more people have Bravo than Sky Sports. Plus if they are using their own whole back catalog then they could get an awsome hour long show once a week.
I agree with Davis though, I hope they use wrestlers and wrestling matches that were actually entertaining, instead of the TNA footage that all designed to grab headlines.
why doesn’t the U.S. get this show?
Im not sure why the US doesnt get the show and I think it really sucks. There is a saying, you have to look after your own. I’m actually moving to the states for 4 months and I would really like to watch it.

Also Bravo is not on freeview, its a pay channel on Sky. Either that or Sky are running some sort of scam with my subscription lol
It’s a really good show for anyone who gets to see it. So far they have shown XXX VS AMW (CAGE), Christian vs Rhyno (Cage) LAX vs Styles and Daniels (Cage) The first X divison title match and one of the greatest matches of all time…Joe Daniels and Styles 2005……Its a bloody good show….
