Rey Mysterio vs WWE Wellness Policy, The Facts

As we all know by now Rey Mysterio has been suspended by the WWE for violating there Wellness Policy. Seeing how complicated this whole thing is I'd thought I'd clear the confusion and give more of Rey's side of the story. First off, Rey stated in his interview with Mexico's Record.com that he does have a subscription for the drug that was found in his system. Rey's story is that after he was informed that he failed a test he was given a set amount of time to present the subscription and since he was doing oversees WWE promotion the time alloted was not enough. So if we are to take Rey at his word the drug he was taking was legit and he can prove it.

However, WWE's Wellness Policy policy says that every prescription drug your on has to be documented by the WWE at the time it is prescribed to you. This is  so WWE knows before your tested what drugs your on and by Rey's own admission he did not do this. So even though the drug was most likely prescribed by a legit doctor for a legit injury, in accordance with the Wellness Policy which states that if your found to have a prescription drug in your system that the WWE is not informed of before the time of the failed test then the failed test is considered a violation.  This is why WWE feels they have the grounds to suspend Rey Mysterio regardless of the legitimacy of drug found in his system.

In this particular situation nether side is 100% wrong or right. In a perfect world Rey would have been given some more time to prove he had a prescription but due to heavy scrutiny WWE is forced to follow the Wellness Policy to the letter. And given the circumstances Rey as the right to be mad at the way WWE has to handle things.
