Register To PWB To Comment
In an effort to cut down on the spam that this site gets in the comments, I'm going to make it so that you have to sign in to the site to leave comments.
Most people have already registered and sign in before leaving comments anyway, so it won't effect them but there are still a few that don't. To register, just go to "Register" under the PWBites box on the bottom right of the site. Select your username and put in an email address. It will send a confirmation through to your email, and once clicked you will be registered. It's about as easy as it gets on the internet.
Your email address will be kept secret and you won't get added to any marketing lists or anything like that.
To sign in, go to "Sign In" under where it says "Register".
This is too stop me having to delete comments everyday from Russian porn sites and viagra salesmen.
This idea will not work.
Askimet should take care of the comments…do you have it installed?

I have Askimet as it’s probably the most useful plugin available for wordpress. It picks up a lot of spam but still a lot gets through. I just updated it since writing the post and it looks good so far.
I know that it might stop a few new PWBites from posting comments but I don’t think it will impact it too much. I’ll leave it as it is for now and see how we get on.

It always worked really well for me. I think it sort of takes time to build itself up, if that makes sense.
