Monday Night Raw/TNA IMPACT!

For years, the world presumed that the day would never come for the almost mythic “Hit Man” to once again step foot on the WWE turf of Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Hell would freeze over and other requisite impossibilities, before the true pink and black would ever again be seen on WWE programming.

As imperceivable as it may be, the new decade kicks off with perhaps the biggest announcement in WWE history: Bret is back.

Hart’s legacy
The five-time WWE Champion and two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion began to establish his electric pink legacy throughout the 1980s, flourishing with his greatest successes in the 1990s as he pioneered a “new generation” in World Wrestling Entertainment.

Boasting a lineage as rich as his ring achievements, the Hit Man is perhaps the most recognizable member of the legendary Hart Family, but more so, he is arguably the most outstanding product of Stu Hart’s infamously venerated Dungeon.

SpikeTV and TNA Wrestling have unveiled a huge billboard in New York City's Times Square to promote the upcoming January 4 live Monday Night "iMPACT!" on SpikeTV! The billboard is located at 1500 Broadway in Times Square! If you are visiting NYC in the next few weeks, be sure to check it out!

    DVR FTW
Im recording both shows. I will watch Impact tonight after work and Raw probably tomorrow. I just know Brett hart is going to to be used as a tool. Hopefully he comes in and is classic Brett but I doubt it

  2. sideshowRaheem

I haven’t watched wrestling for about 3 months but tonight I’m tuning in. This is both companies last chance to win me back.

  3. Arron

This is there chance for me to take it seriously one more time, the curtain jerker is the Steele Asylum, I like it.

  4. Arron

Jeff Hardy back in TNA along with Shannon Moore, love all the little bleeps, when the crowd is chanting this is bull shit.

  5. Kanadian

im with sideshow, since mania ive not seen more than 15 minutes of wrestling in a row, an in the last maybe 4 months i havent bothered to even tune in. ill give it a chance tonight.

  6. zhaff2004

    This is actually pretty epic

  7. sideshowRaheem

Bret and Shawn looked so relevant standing in the middle of the ring… Razor and Waltman, did not.

  8. 313rd Perfectionist

Man this is crazy! The first battle of potentially MNW 2 has begun

  9. zhaff2004

    DX is freaking lame

“If it wasnt for Dixie Carter resurrecting TNA and if it wasnt for Dixie Carter giving all these young guys a shot, this company would be under”

i think RAW won the battle last night, but the war is definitely favouring TNA potential-wise. The WWE desperate attempts to lure Rocky Johnson out of retirement will never be answered. Been a long while since i’ve posted on here and this has definitely lured me back into what wrestling could be about! And i’m sure that with the new acquirements on TNA, WWE has definitely got to step its game up.

  12. Dynamite Kid

yeah, those hhh and hornswoggle skits sure won me over.

TNA blew them out of the water, but for everything TNA did right they also did something wrong. The Pope over McGuinness in about 3 minutes? Really? This is the super skilled mega-heel you’ve been building up? And the Scott Hall and Nasty Boys stuff was pitiful. Scott Hall + Hi Def = everyone loses.

  13. d-love III

this is why i gave first-blood to WWE because there was a lot more wrestling than TNA. and i was pleasantly surprised with the fatal four way. Admittedly, hornswoggle needs to be on the january fired list; what he offers to the show is practically nothing, and for us to expect the big show to be phased by the lil critter is pointless. TNA needed to minimalise some of the storyline backstage camera action and focused on what it does best when it had the viewers, entertaining wrestling.

  14. Arron

I am liking TNA bringing new people in, but I want it all to be relevant. I don’t want it to turn into a zoo.

I wish more time would have been given to Pope and Nigel, and Kurt and A.J. needed a half hour, I hope they get a rematch on the PPV.

I thought WWE and Hart was ok, but Hart Dynasty did not appear or did they? My DVR cut off in the final promo, what did you guys think?

BTW, who is the guy attacking everyone in TNA? My guess is Tomko, he is technically under contract with TNA which would make sense.

  15. Joe Morgan

    TNA won

Hulk Hogan is like herpes he is unwanted and brings along all of his deadbeat friends. I think TNA could have done without all of the fat in Hall Waltman and the nasty boys. The only person that looked good out of the hogan crew is Bishoff. Hardy is in TNA, Styles Pope and Wolfe looked good TNA is in a good position as long as the hogan stooges don’t ruin the show.

    WWE looked sad

Brett Hart needed to put out more of an effort to at least build some sort of angle. I KNOW for a fact that Brett dosnt like Shawn But wait till the final segment for the face to face between the two. Vince refuses to play the lower card so a good tension angle between the two is out of the question and MYP becoming the #1 contender is a demotion in rank. DX is lame and HORNSWAGGLE IS A FUCKING ADULT! WWe’s wrestling ;looked stale and it showed especially after watching both programs back to back on DVR where I can self record whatever spots I like.

The TNA crowd alone was worth the time and EFFORT of watching that show. DX fans to me are pathetic literally it is two forty year old men and a midget. That only works if your Kid Rock

  16. Joe Morgan

One more thing TNA wasn’t predictable. WWE was as proof Myrse wins the divas tournament

  17. sideshowRaheem

TNA threw to much at the screen WWE didn’t throw enough. TNA’s whole first hour was really bad completely unnecessary even with Jeff Hardy. For me Brett/HBK stuff was way more interesting from a story standpoint then anything TNA did but Kurt/AJ was easily  the best match of the night. People may not like Hornswoggle but you can’t deny that the Nasty Boyz are equally as bad. Overall I thought both companies did a decent job but I don’t think WWE or TNA ran away with anything, it was a coin toss for me.

  18. The Original Nick

Apparently, Impact scored a 1.5 rating…better than I thought it would get, but they deserve it

  19. HoganMark

TNA won! I don’t care what anyone Says, I’m so happy for TNA.
TNA Impact Was unpredictable and WWE Raw was the same Bullshit over and over again. There is no way WWE RAW was better than TNA last night. Raw was the same predictable shit boring.

  20. HoganMark

TNA now has the 2nd Biggest Star in Wrestling in Jeff Hardy, TNA’s Roster Has a bunch of guys who were over in WWE Kurt Angle,Hogan,Jeff Hardy,Ric Flair, Jeff Jarrett and Plus the young blood wrestlers like Nigel,Samoa Joe,Pope, Aj Styles,Daniels. TNA’s roster is 10 times stronger than WWE’s.

  21. HoganMark

By the End of 2010 It looks like there will be More Monday Night TNA specials and It looks like TNA Impact will move to Mondays in the future from 8-10 pm.

  22. Goliath

TNA got the win by throwing as much shit against the wall as possible. WWE tried coming back with the truckload of money for Bret but ended up giving us the same old crap.

That is the problem though,,, Hogan, Flair, Hart, Michels, HHH… It is ALL still the same old crap. Just reheated. Thanks for the hint of nWo with Hall and Pac coming over the rail. “Security, Security, let them come over”. C’mon TNA did you need to inject yourself with the nWo virus too?

I dvr this stuff and seriously get through each show in 20 minutes.

We don’t need more of the late 90’s… We need new stars. That is why I think TNA got the win, on potential. But still open for debate.

  23. Pole Foam

I was disappointed with the Bret ending, Vince should not be rivaling Pro Wrestlers.

  24. Nathan H

I thought Bret Hart hosting went very well. I think alot of people dont realize there was alot of truth when Bret and Shawn were talking in the ring. Bret was screwed in 97 and hopefully this is some sort of closure for him. The ending was as expected since they are setting up Bret vs Vince in someway. As far as TNA goes it was a major let down for me. Scott Hall looked like an out of shape butterball, and I never could stand Waltman’s gimmick, and what happened to Kevin Nash when he talks now it almost puts me to sleep. I was hoping to see some big suprises. I will give them Jeff Hardy as he was a shocker. The rest are way over the hill and not needed i.e. Nasty Boys, Ric Flair.

  25. d-love III

Can Anyone reccomend any good wrestling podcasts at the moment?

  26. dynamitekid

da sharpshooters and wrestlecrap are the only wrestling podcasts worth listening to at the moment.

  27. dynamitekid

Nathan, why would you think that ANYTHING that happens in a WWE ring is on the level? It’s all a work. All of it. Bret is being paid to be in the ring and interact with Shawn. His true feelings about Shawn are revealed in his book numerous times.
