Michael Jackson Attended UFC Events, To be Inducted into UFC Hall of Fame

Michael Jackson was subsequently spotted at an Ultimate Fighting Championship event (UFC 84) held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 24, 2008. Michael Jackson and his three children were also spotted, and photographed, browsing a Las Vegas bookstore during the weekend. This flurry of weekend appearances and photographs mark the first in many months, and speculation continues by Las Vegas columnists that a new single is set for release next month (this rumor has yet to be confirmed by Michael Jackson's camp). Michael Jackson was wearing his typical disguise when photographed at both the UFC 84 and the bookstore.
Jackson was known to be an avid mixed martial arts fan who secretly attended many UFC events. He was seen last seen at UFC 84 in May of 2008 concealing his identity to avoid garnering media attention, the president of the UFC Dana White praised Jackson for attending past UFC events and for his continuous support for mixed martial arts

"I know Michael attended live UFC events a few times in the past. You know we lost a great ambassador for the sport and he truly help the sport grow, so offering a tribute is the least we can do." - Dana White

White then announced a special post fight ceremony to be held where Michael Jackson will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

"I know the hall of fame is more for the fighters, but Michael helped the sport grow so I think we can make an exception in this one instance."

    Dana White is a moron.

Jackson a fan of the UFC wow. Of course Mandy Moore has more of a right to be a Celeb star in the Hall than Jackson.

I’ve heard this story before and honestly I don’t believe a word of it, I was an MJ fan but there is no way that he is going to be inducted into the UFC HoF, not only was the announcement of 2 inductees made months before Jacko’s death but the UFC isn’t stupid enough to waste a spot of their HoF on a musician who made no impact on the sport whatsoever. It’d be like the Rock & Roll HoF inducting Chuck Liddell for appearing in the Rockstar video, it’s just ludicrous.

If this were true, I cannot see how MJ helped the sport grow. According to a post on JR’s blog, Michael was a fan of WWE as well.

So, just because he attended a damn fight he is being inducted…oh my god..then I should be inducted into the Chicago Bulls hall of fame…I set at ringside on more than one occasssion. Hell give him the keys to the white house…Bunch of idiots.

Jimmy D, he wasn’t inducted it was just a really stupid rumour that I’m amazed anyone took seriously. Chuck Liddell and Charles “Mask” Lewis Jr (the dead founder of TapouT) were the HoF inductees.
