Lashley Takes Care of Sapp
Bobby Lashley took super heavyweight Bob “The Beast" Sapp to the mat immediately following the opening bell and used his improved ground-and-pound game to win by first-round submission in the main event at “Ultimate Chaos” at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi.
“Going up against Bob,” Lashley said after the fight, “you always expect the big bulls. I had to take him down, cover and pound. The first thing is to win: ground-and-pound to wear the big man down. He has a big punch. I used my ground-and-pound and got out of there.”
“I got a good shot in the eye and was unable to see,” Sapp explained the ending. “He got me in the eye. No excuses, He got me down today and controlled it. Give it up to Bobby Lashley.”
It looks like Lashley is on his way up the ladder then. I can see him being a big draw soon if he continues to be undefeated. After all, he has been through the WWE factory machine funded by Vince McMahon. He was one of the biggest names in the WWE at the time so, like Lesnar, a lot of fans already know him.
The full fight is below (courtesy of JSNWWF). Who should Lashley fight next then?

Thanks for adding to the post. Lashley vs Silvia would be nice right? Didnt Silvia lose to a guy (Ray Mercer) that Kimbo beat?
This is true JSN, however, alot has been speculated that the fight between Kimbo and Ray Mercer was a work.
Looking at the fight it would make sense.
Fixing MMA matches…isn’t that how what we know as pro-wrestling started?
Only problem with fixing an MMA match is that most of the excitement comes from the fact that we’re watching two elite athletes and that no amount of storyline and hype will affect the outcome of the match.
If it were ever proven that a major fight in the UFC was fixed I wonder how many wrestling deserters would stick around.
Easy win for Lashley, Sapp looked awful. Smart fight from Bobby, Sapp has no ground game so it would have been dumb to try to strike with him instead of taking him down. The referreeing for this show was awful, this idiot didn’t notice Sapp tapping and another guy allowed Gilbert Yvel 3 or 4 extra punches on an unconcious Pedro Rizzo before stepping in, full credit to Yvel he stopped immediately and checked on his hurt opponent even silencing the crowd.
Sylvia-Mercer was a joke, they couldn’t get it regulated as a boxing match (Mercer is that bad) even in a state without an athletic commission so they made it an MMA fight with a gentleman’s agreement that they’d keep it standing, as Mercer has no ground game (see the Kimbo-Mercer fight for proof of this) and sure enough he KO’d Timmy in 10s. That was a low point for MMA. I don’t think it was fixed, Sylvia’s just that hopeless that I wouldn’t be suprised if an old out of shape boxer KO’d him. The Fedor, Nog and Couture fights have broken him and he’s done as a top fighter. Why else would he call out Shamrock and Mercer?
Deathtotheswiss not only are fixed MMA fights pointless but they are also illegal as people gamble on them, look at the outcry over the Kimbo-Seth fight when Elite allegedly paid Seth to make it a standing fight in order to give Kimbo a better chance at winning (funny how that one turned out). Maybe that could happen in Japan, as they get away with a lot there, but in the US if found out the promoters and fighters would be in big trouble, so surely even Sylvia and Mercer aren’t that stupid.
yeah, because heaven knows that boxing isn’t fixed, so MMA couldn’t possibly be.
DK, fixed fights may very well happen in both sports but it would be idiotic to do it. Nobody wants to see a fixed fight and when there is money involved it can lead to some very dodgy situations. The last thing MMA needs is some idiots fixing a fight, that would kill any hope of regulation in New York and could cause irrepairable damage to the integrity and legitimacy of the sport.
I think Lashley should have gone on the ultimate fighter that they have just started filming.
See, thats my problem with MMA, it just be over too quick! I was expectin the Sapp/Lashley fight to go a little longer and being a hard hitting match thru-out. However, given each figuters strengths and weaknesses, it make sense why the fight ended why it did.
