Bret Hart Signs With WWE
One can finally put an end to the speculation regarding Bret Hart returning to WWE–it is going to happen.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed that Hart has signed a deal
with WWE that makes him available as an on-air character from 1/1/10 through 4/10/10; it essentially means he will work with WWE until just past WrestleMania.
When asked about the situation, Hart “simply told us that he wasn’t going to lie about anything and thus wasn’t going to say anything on the story,” noted the Observer.
Talk within WWE circles about bringing Bret Hart back hit a high point earlier this year. Though it is not known if The Hitman ever actually expressed interest in the idea, one storyline plan called for Donald Trump to name Hart the permanent general manager
during the period in which he “owned” RAW.
At press time, the belief is that Hart will first emerge on television under the guise of a RAW guest host. A storyline would then result in him working for several months, with the latest indication being that he will work at least one actual match.
This is going to start on Jan 4th when TNA go head toi head with WWE….I knew TNA moving to Mondays would spark Vince to pull out all the stops….I think the latest news is that he will work a match or at least guest star in a major role at Wrestlemania…..I’m on the plane for that one…..
Superb news, I’m a huge Bret mark. I hope that he gets the chance to have a fitting send off from WWE and pro wrestling. I doubt that he’ll do much physically and I’m not expecting Steamboatesque heroics out of him but it’ll be great seeing Bret in WWE again.
Wow.. this is pretty big news.. hopefully this will really bring some “New” life back into Raw and WWE

great, they’ll probably have hBK and HHH embarrass him for 3 months. Of course it could lead to the Hart Dynasty taking the belts off of DX, so that would be fine.
if HBK and Taker fight at mania Bret will prob ref….. remember Summerslam 1997 When Hat fought him and HBK was ref…..On the HBK Taker note, do you guys think this will happen and if so what are your iews. They stole the show last year, do they need to do it again. Surely Taker can’t lose…..
Bret won’t let WWE piss about with him or his character, if HHH and HBK treat him like crap then he’ll leave. I’m confident that WWE are going to give Bret the farewell that he always deserved and no amount of DX politicing can ruin it. Hopefully this helps to elevate the Hart Dynasty as well.
Taker-HBK will be another classic, all of their matches have been superb. I doubt that Taker will agree to lose his streak to HBK as they can’t stand each other out of the ring, Taker takes that streak very seriously so he won’t allow one of his backstage enemies to be the one to take it away from him. Good call on Bret being the ref for that match though.
I doubt bret will do anything with HHH and am almost certain he’ll do nothing with HBK; and he’ll likely not stand for much dumb shit that anyone wants him to do, so he might actually produce some entertaining product.

It would be great if he referees a match between Taker and Michaels.
I’m with you Pole Foam, I really think this is the way they will go. I am hoping they announce that he will take charge of Jan 4th Raw, WWE have announced on thier website that Mike Tyson will be taking charge on the show on the 11th. Its really good, as much as Vince admits he doesnt see TNA as a threat, it would appear he is pulling out all the stops, at least for these two shows.

Why is everyone placing so much emphasis on HBK and Bret? As interesting as it sounds Bret vs. Vince sounds way better at WM26! HBK and Bret WILL have an confrontation, however knowing that Vince and Bret are basically on the same page healthwise, plus McMahon retired from the ring remember? It will take a major event to get him back into the ring and I think it will come down to something like the WM street fight with Hogan, however whereas enter Piper ala Austin! Why not? Vince has already swollowed his pride to bring Bret back, why not go all out and bring Austin back? Vince must truly be threatened by the TNA/Hogan teaming to eat that much crow. However it plays out, expect Austin at some point, and definately expect Vince vs. Bret.
Well I hope he’s treated with the dignity he deserves… The Hitman is a legend.
