Thank You, WWE

Written by Kanadian on June 18th, 2008 in Uncategorized.

WWE Night of Champions will feature John Morrison and The Miz defending their WWE Tag Team Championships against Finlay and Hornswoggle. For me, that is reason enough why not to purchase Night of Champions. But since, if I’m not mistaken, ECW is moving to tapings before RAW, more than likely we will see new Tag Team Champions in Hornswoggle and Finlay. I haven’t paid for a wrestling PPV since Wrestlemania, but assuming Y2J vs Shawn Michaels for the IC title was going to be added to the card, I was close for this one. Thank you for setting me straight, WWE. You saved me from making a $40 mistake.

im not buying this shit im gonna be home for 16 days in nj though i will prolly watch it for free at a friends house but im not forking my money for this ppv

I always go to Bw3’s with my friends to watch these, I never pay for these PPVs, wrestlemania would be the only one id consider, theres always too many matches i could give 2 shits about, this one included. Back in the day they used to fill ppv’s with cards that i wanted to see every match, with them doing tribrand ppvs again they sure have stunk it up big time. My guess is their doing this just to keep Findley and Hornswoggle relivent on TV since they dont really have any storylines since the whole Vince child deal

At first I misread this, and thought you said Hornswoggle and Finlay challenging for the titles was reason enough TO purchase the PPV, lol. I thought to myself, “I know Kanadian loves WWE, but give me a break!”

  5. kanadian Says:

lol Lex, I know you think I’m a WWE mark (which I deny, even if I like what they do more often than some), but I HATE Hornswoggle. In my book, the two worst things in wrestling today are Hornswoggle and the WWE models.

  6. Jade Says:

Well, that saves me from watching this… Wonder if after Hornswaggle wins these belts if they’ll be retired, too.

I talked about this a bit in the new Rant podcast. Raheem will get that posted probably tomorrow. Yay.

Kanadian, I’m glad you’ve come to your senses and realize that Vince and his product do nothing more than sell dreams. I began to realize that at the last and probably final WWE live event I’ll attend–WM23.

And because of this, you now see that burning $50 or however many dollars into your pocket for a awful to so-so grade level pay-per-view is not worth it. You realize that your money and most importantly your time is not worth it. You have better things to spend your time and money on. Welcome to the lightside my brethren. Welcome!

lol 313rdPerfectionist, nice that your proud of me, I am still open to buying a show, but it’s stuff like this and all the crazy repetition you get from the WWE, and what i think have been below average to absolutely terrible storylines in TNA that have kept me from buying more than the 2 shows I’ve spent money on; The Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania (and I only bought those because they have consistently been the really good shows PPVs). If we keep getting these shows with 1 great looking match, 1 horrible looking match and the rest all average I’m not getting them, and at least on this blog, that seems to be a trend.

P.S. Lex, one of the reasons I didn’t buy the few PPVs that I was thinking about is because on your WM preview I wrote i was buying Wrestlemania and you said that didn’t surprise you. Now, however ridiculous it is to have someone make you feel bad about buying Wrestlemania, I took it as a public accusation of me being a WWE mark, which, as I alluded to above, having a general preference over another in wrestling should not make you a mark, especially when TNA has (often and recently) been putting on worse TV than WWE. But in response to that, I, like yourself, put my blindly buying PPV days behind me, and am not going to waste my money any longer.

wow, long post. But consider the above when judging me or others on markisms.

There are other good matches on the card.

I want to see Ted Dibiase’s Jr. debut.

I also think that Miz and Morrision will retain.

I guess I’m in the minority here.

  10. 3$Bizkit Says:

just read today that ECW wont be taped before RAW until august 1st so there is a better chance they retain the tag titles now so we might be safe still as fans

  11. kanadian Says:

oh really 3$Bizkit, that’s good, but I still think the titles are changing hands. They have been persistent in keeping Hornswoggle on TV, all the while not caring about how much it is ruining Smackdown. Theres a pattern on smackdown, usually opens with a Vickie/Edge bit, then Hornswoggle, then the models. So every week im watching for 10 minutes, then i turn the channel for a half hour. I would like to see the SD ratings breakdown because i’m almost certain stupid crap like hornswoggle is bringing them down.
