Smackdown Discussion: Kofi Kingston & Matt Hardy vs Burke & Benjamin

I still haven’t read any spoilers but this weeks Smackdown looks pretty good on paper Vickie Guerrero will announce a new match for WWE One Night Stand hmmm……get me guess Edge vs Taker? MVP hosts the VIP Lounge with special guest Theodore Long and some pretty good matches including Elijah Burke & Shelton Benjamin vs Kofi Kingston & Matt Hardy(my prayers have been answered). Here’s the complete list of tonights SD! matches.
- Deuce & Domino w/Maryse vs. Jesse & Festus w/Cherry
- Finlay vs. Chuck Palumbo
- MVP vs. Batista
- Vladimir Kozlov vs. Nunzio
- Kofi Kingston & Matt Hardy vs. Elijah Burke & Shelton Benjamin
- The Undertaker vs. Chavo Guerrero

I’m with you jmart. I don’t think it’s going to be worse than last year, that was ridiculously horrible. I think the biggest problem with this one is it’s all stuff we’ve seen before. we’ve seen jbl/cena, we’ve seen the two main events, we’ve seen umanga/hardy, we’ve seen batista vs michaels. ugh.
But it’s smackdown, off to a not so special start. I avoided reading the matches (i like the surprise, especially if it’s not such a good card), so i dont know how the rest of the show’s gonna be.

Batista vs MVP was REALLY good. I’m kind of shocked.

is anyone really into the edge/undertaker story line? i dont know why but i just cant get into it, although i must say that the TLC element is going to make their match at ONS VERY interesting

I hate their short memory. “Undertaker’s first ladder match.” NO! He had one with Jeff Hardy. It’s on the BRAND NEW Hardy Boyz DVD set!

I think they said Undertaker’s first TLC match, which, I think, it is. They did however say that Edge has been in all TLC matches, but didn’t they have one on RAW with kane & and an absent hurricane vs RVD & Jeff Hardy vs 2Dudleys vs Christian & Jericho; so edge hasn’t been in all TLC matches.

You can’t get into it for the same reason none of us can get into HHH/Orton, the feud has been going on for 3 months now, we are all so sick and tired of seeing these two in the main event.
Also I liked the Batista/MVP match, but I thought the Batista/Y2J match was better on RAW. Still, like sideshow said, give Dave an opponent who is a good wrestler and you get a good match up.
In closing, wont it be awesome when we one day get Edge vs MVP in a feud? OHHH, the promos!

I got to watch Smackdown before the US did and I was happy with a few of the stuff that happened.
Vickie announcing TLC for the Title @ ONS I marked for but when she announced that if Taker loses then he’s fired it sucked the life out of it because Taker is now going to win.
Hardy/Kingston Vs. Benjamin/Burke was OK. I wish that they would team Benjamin and Burke more often. They could be Tag Team Champions. However I would like to see Benjamin in the US Title picture more because he needs gold.
I never finished watching Taker/Chavo because I couldn’t be bothered and I never got into it.
It’s amazing how much heat Kozlov seems to get from the crowd considering a year ago he was going round getting cheered sayin “I LOVE DOUBLE DOUBLE E” and now he’s got so much heat from squashing people. Give him a challenge.

No, they said it was his first TLC match. Edge, remember was in the first TLC match.
