Countdown To Wrestlemania 24: Wrestlemania XI
Written by sideshowraheem on March 16th, 2008 in Uncategorized.

WrestleMania XI was held in the Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut it was the only Wrestlemania to be held in Connecticut the home of WWE corporate headquarters. Bret Hart defeated Bob Backlund in an I Quit Match at WrestleMania XI, with Roddy Piper serving as guest referee. It was the second consecutive Wrestlemania event at which Piper was the guest referee for Bret Hart’s match. Speaking of guest referees with baseball players on strike, American League umpire Larry Young stepped into the ring, as the referee for the match between the Undertaker and King Kong Bundy at WrestleMania XI this was the only time were an official from another professional sport would ref for the WWE. In a somewhat questionable move the WWF Championship match between Shawn Michaels and Diesel was not billed as the main event for Wrestlemania XI. Instead the gimmick match between Bam Bam Bigelow and “the greatest linebacker in NFL history” Lawrence Taylor was the final match of the evening.

Are you kidding Wrestlemania IX was way worse then this. But then again I’m a huge Gaints fan from New Jersey(home of Bam Bam Bigelow) so maybe I find the main event more interesting then most.

While the card at 9 wasn’t the best, it still had its moments for me. I’d have to concur with X and Luthor here… 11 was a complete snooze fest.
anyone else goin’ to WM 24 this year?

match of the night: bret/bob
P.S. My favorite match was HBK/Daddy Cool because Piper was fucking annoying as ref. Its hard to watch because he was always loud.
moment of the night: jenny and pamela celebrate with The reigning champ
worst match: main event, seriously
