Wrestlemania returned to the midwest with Wrestlemania VIII which took place in the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, IN in front of over 60,000 fans. This would be the first Wrestlemania to feature future Hall of Famer Ric Flair on the card and the only Wrestlemania where Flair was in the main event. The match between Hulk Hogan and Sid Justice at WrestleMania VIII was billed as Hogan’s “retirement” match although Hogan would go on to competed again at the following year’s WrestleMania.

That show wasn’t booked right. Why da hell was the world title match even booked as the 5th match of the night? Shit like that reminds me of that sorry excuse of a show WM23. I know a promoter can book a show how he/she can see fit, but a good show is like a full course meal. You’re served the small stuff like bread sticks and sald before you get to the real good stuff. Even more so, Hogan v. Sid; both are big names but nothing was really on the line other than Hogan’s so called retirement. It just doesn’t make any sense to me.
